KEY ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FIGHT:
      Although many "talk" about the issue of the annual harp seal slaughter, there are a few key organizations that standout from the rest when it comes to direct action fighting and saving SEALS LIVES.

 SEA SHEPHERD CONSERVATION SOCIETY-
    Original Greenpeace founding member Paul Watson has led, organized, designed and/ or participated in over 10 harp seal saving campaigns over the years. Hated by the sealers and loved by seals and compassionate human beings worldwide, Paul Watson makes a difference with creative, direct action, non-violent, and effective campaigns.
    In addition to opposing the seal kill for years, this organization is the world's only enforcer of the lame IWC laws on the high seas... Simply put: this organization kicks ass for whales, seals, dolphins, sharks, turtles and all other species of marine life!
INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR ANIMAL WELFARE (IFAW)
     Direct quote from their website section "What we Do": - "Ifaws mission is to improve the welfare of wild and domestic animals throughout the world by reducing commercial exploitation of animals, protection wildlife habitats, and assisting animals in distress. We seek to motivate the public to prevent cruelty to animals and to promote animal welfare and conservation policies that advance the well-being of both animals and people."
    
      Regarding the Harp seal hunt, Ifaw has been and remains one of the most effective and instrumental strategists in making a difference in the opposition to the annual seal hunt.

    There are numerous other quality organizations, groups, and individuals passionately involved in opposing the annual Canadian Harp seal kill in one way or another.

Some are more actively involved than others and fight with different levels of intensity and strategies. Others utilizing time proven methods of activism. No matter what they are doing, all recognize there are many aspects to stopping an atrocity as deeply entrenched in politics as this one is... and each does their own part...

     Another concerned and valuable organization fighting the good fight and trying to make a difference through education.

     Science and conservation of ice loving seals. This website is part of the International Marine Mammal Association, inc. (or IMMA) and is active in opposing the seal hunt in numerous ways and has a very informative website displaying many aspects of the hunt: history, science, etc.
INTERATIONAL MARINE MAMMAL ASSOCIATION INC. (IMMA)-
    The International Marine Mammal Association is dedicated to the conservation of marine mammals and their habitats worldwide, through research and education.
FISHERY CRISIS- The Starving Ocean
      Quality website with information regarding harp seals, highlighting the issue of their relationship with the cod... "harp seal populations should be increased rather than decreased because it is the harp seal that preys upon the fish species that prey upon young cod. Lowering seal populations increases predatory fish populations." Written from a scientific point of view, this is an excellent source of information concerning the seal hunt and other subjects relative to the future sustainability of the ocean.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
    There are several ways to get involved in helping stop or limit this barbaric annual slaughter of the Harp seals.
