"The environment is everything that isn't me" - Albert Einstein
There are many ways of protecting the environment and the creatures that live within it. That's what this site is all about.
Direct action campaigns are some of our favorite techniques because they tend to cut to the chase and force reaction...
But when it comes right down to it, the largest and potentially most effective forms of ecodefense for the environment and our earth come in the form of politics, political strategies, and most importantly, new ways of thinking.
"Green Politics" means getting the people involved... This is the chance for the general public to step up to the plate and take a stand.
Some KEY Organizations
Here are a few organizations making differences in forging new ways of thinking for and about our planet:
ADBUSTERS- (website and publication)
CULTURAL REVOLUTION IS OUR BUSINESS-
We are a loose global network of artists, writers, environmentalists, ecological economists, media-literacy teachers, reborn Lefties, ecofeminists, downshifters, high school shit-disturbers, campus rabble-rousers, incorrigibles, malcontents and green entrepreneurs. We are idealists, anarchists, guerrilla tacticians, pranksters, neo-Luddites, poets, philosophers and punks. Our aim is to topple existing power structures and forge a major rethinking of the way we will live in the 21st century. We want to change the way information flows, the way institutions wield power, the way the world keeps the peace, the way the food, fashion, automobile, sports, music and culture industries set their agendas. Above all, we want to change the way we interact with the mass media and the way in which meaning is produced in our society.

MOVE ON. ORG-
"Democracy in Action"- MoveOn is working to bring ordinary people back into politics. With a system that today revolves around big money and big media, most citizens are left out. When it becomes clear that our "representatives" don't represent the public, the foundations of democracy are in peril. MoveOn is a catalyst for a new kind of grassroots involvement, supporting busy but concerned citizens in finding their political voice. Our international network of more than 2,000,000 online activists is one of the most effective and responsive outlets for democratic participation available today. (words taken from their own site's "about us" description.)
The AlterNet's Environmental Health section's mission is to empower people to help the planet through personal action and through raising awareness of ecological crises. Issues they focus on primarily concern food, pollution, sustainable energy, environmental stewardship and policy, and activism. (words taken from their own site's "our mission" description.)
