TRAPPING & THE FUR TRADE

The amazing Coyote is caught in the middle of this issue for all the wrong reasons...

"FUR IS DEAD! ... And each time you wear that pretty fur coat that's so soft and warm, think of all the beautiful animals, each one with an individual personality, that had to suffer and die to make you comfortable."

Basically, that's one of the main points of the anti- fur issue, but this page goes way beyond that emotionalism and into the intracacies of why so many people are fighting against it.

The organizations linked here mostly involve anti trapping issues and fur farm industry opposition efforts, although we have also tried to find related topics to list as well.

Animals are just humans in fur coats. Let them enjoy their own skins.

KEY ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FIGHT:

The reality behind trapping is indescribable and causes indiscriminate animal suffering.
See the PetaTV video: Cull of the Wild: The Truth Behind Trapping making the case that trapping is unjustified in the 21st century.

There are many other organizations involved in these issues:

NO SNARE TASK FORCE
12 Boynton St., Bangor, ME 04401 , *Contact: Susan Cockrell- (207) 843-9023
From their mission statement: A diverse group of citizens has been working to increase public awareness about Maine's policies regarding wild predators. We are particularly concerned about coyote snaring, authorized every winter by Maine's Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Scientific evidence has shown that coyote control programs such as this are ineffective, unnecessary, and irresponsible, resulting in the abuse of a top predator that fills a vital niche in healthy ecosystems.
